lets do some calculation
8Mbps:
current price without any gift: $49 (24 month)
with eeepc: $55 (24 month)
$49 x 24 = $1179 for 2 years
$55 x 24 = $1320 for 2 years
eeepc cost around $550 or lesser
$1320 - $550 = $770
$770 / 24 = $32
so with eeepc should be cheaper than the one without gift.
10Mbps
currently without gift: $58 (24 month)
with macbook: $79.95 (30 month)
$58 x 24 = $1392
$79.95 x 30 = $2398.50
macbook cost $1588
$2398.50 - $1588 = $810.50
$810.50 / 30 = $27
so with gift is still cheaper.
